Instructions: First steps

To participate in our online seminars, you only need two technical requirements.
 
You can access your personal CAD workstation via the AWS Cloud (Amazon AppStream). We use Microsoft Teams for audio and optional video transmission. It is not necessary to install any software. The CAD workstation and the Teams meeting can be accessed via a browser.
 
We recommend participating with two screens. Your CAD workstation is on one screen and you use the second for the Teams meeting.
Important note in advance
Home office: If participants are working from home, we recommend disconnecting any existing VPN connection to avoid connection problems with AWS AppStream.
 
Office: If you are experiencing connection problems with the virtual CAD machine in the office, we recommend disconnecting from the internal LAN cable and using a guest Wi-Fi network.
 
Browser: If problems persist, please try a different browser. If this is not possible, try an “InPrivate/Incognito window.” In most browsers, you can open this by clicking on the “three dots icon” in the upper right corner.
 
IT requirements 
Don't worry—since the training is conducted entirely through the browser, no special precautions such as local admin rights or installations are required. However, the following network requirements should be checked to ensure a smooth connection. We use AWS AppStream 2.0 for the virtualization of the personalized CAD computer. We use Microsoft Teams for communication. Please forward the current page to your IT manager.
 
Network requirements
 
1. Open ports
The following outgoing ports must be open for communication with AWS AppStream 2.0:
Port 443 (HTTPS)
Port 8433

2. Required domains
The following domains must be accessible and resolvable via DNS:
https://mum-ops.de/
https://adfssrv01.mum-ops.de
https://appstream2.eu-central-1.aws.amazon.com 
 
3. Geoblocking
The AWS AppStream data center for this training is located in Germany (Frankfurt). Please ensure that access to this region is not restricted by geoblocking policies.
